*Palisades Animal Rescue is a registered non-profit organization with the state of North Carolina and also is a 501c3 federal tax exempt group. We are a "no-kill" animal rescue group.
Not ready for a pet, but want to make the difference in the life of an animal?
Kristin might be the girl you're looking for!
*Kristin is still looking for a forever home.
Kristin became a member of Palisades Animal Rescue after her owner surrendered her to a local gas shelter. Because Kristin was very very pregnant and disabled, she was scheduled for euthanasia. A foster home within Palisades opened her home and heart to Kristin.
Kristin gave birth to 7 wonderful puppies and all but two have been adopted.
During Kristin's first vet exam it was discovered she was heartworm positive and her left hip was completely dislocated. Proper treatment for her hip entailed removing the ball joint so she could walk without pain.
Kristin is currently under treatment for her heartworms and has been doing great. She also had surgery on her hip on 10/27/09. A BIG thanks to Rolesville Veterinary Hospital for doing such a great job on her hip surgery!
Donations are needed to help cover the cost of her surgery. To date, Palisades needs to raise $220.00 to cover her surgery cost. Your donation is tax-deductible. If you're interested in donating, you can go to

A little about Palisades Animal Rescue :
We've been around for about 6 years now. We started as a cat rescue and later added canines to the group. Our focus is on animals of any age or pregnancy status in high-kill rural gas shelters. They are housed in foster homes or at our adoption center, provided medical care and screening, and placed in loving forever homes.
We have a local feral cat program as well as a cat sanctuary in Florida. Our adoption center is located in Cary. We also have a deployed/injured troop program that assists our chosen men and women with temporary foster care for their animals or permanent placement. We allow and encourage children to volunteer at our adoption center. We have a yearly picnic and all volunteers, adopters, foster animals, and adopted animals are invited.
We are an all volunteer organization and rely on selfless acts of love, time, and monetary donations from our volunteers to make all these miracles happen.

** Palisades Animal Rescue pulls animals from shelters and on rare occasions takes owner surrenders. We encourage pet owners that need to re-home their pet to take responsibility for their animal and use avenues like www.wral.com, the newspaper, and Craigslist to find a new home.
