We have 10 animals and need to downsize. Our 2 female Abyssinian guinea pigs were the last adopted so they are going to be given up first to a good home that will give them all the hugs they need. They are very easy care pets.
We bought the pigs from a locally owned pet store about 9months ago when they were 6 weeks old. They have been around people all day and are handled daily. We have fed them the recommended hay, pellets and food and cleaned their cage regularly. Their hair is brushed -it's a little long for their breed w/ a great mohawk on top of the head. The fur is silky soft. Nails clipped regularly - easy to do. Teeth give things to gnaw so they stayed healthy. Well cared for and perfectly healthy.
Lulu and Rosa (they aren't attached to these names so feel free to change) live in a "cavy cage" type cage. It is 28inx42in so gives lots of room for playing. The sides are wire mesh grids and the bottom and partial sides are coroplast. Very easy to wipe clean. Can transport cage easily. Pigs don't climb like hamsters so don't need a top.
