Wake D.A.: Use of force justified in February officer-involved shooting in Raleigh
— The Wake County District Attorney Monday said police were justified in their use of force in an arrest that sent one man to the hospital. Officer M.L. Berg fired 18 rounds at about 10:50 p.m. on Feb. 10 while officers were responding to a call of shots fired in the 300 block of Rock Quarry Road near Vardaman Street, according to a five-day report of the incident. The report states Berg shot a man named Ranses Vargas, who investigators said shot and injured two women in an apparent domestic dispute before police arrived.
